We have worked with countless students over the years who:
- Spend four hours studying and retain nothing
- Can’t start an assignment until panic sets in
- Answer “I already did it” to questions about uncompleted assignments
- Get A’s on tests but zeros in the homework column
These students are not incapable or unmotivated: they lack specific skills, and their brains are still growing. Beyond academic content review, Executive Function Coaching teaches students the concrete skills that underlie task initiation, time management, organization, and self-monitoring.
Whether your student is struggling to keep their grades up, white-knuckling their way through a rigorous curriculum with unsustainable levels of stress and anxiety, or just hoping to build habits that will pay off for the rest of their academic (and professional) career, Executive Function Coaching can support their goals.
Our Process
Our goal is to equip students with the skills needed to thrive independently in and beyond the classroom.
Step One:
Free initial consultation with one of our EF coaches so we can learn about your student, educate your family on our process, and define what success looks like for your student.
Step Two:
Schedule a weekly meeting time, complete an introductory assignment in our EF workbook, and attend the first session.
Step Three:
Continue weekly meetings, scaffolding skills and practices in response to your student’s needs. Families receive a recap after each meeting with what skills were covered. Our goal is incremental progress, with students improving each week.
Step Four:
Re-evaluating the intended plan as needed to identify the appropriate point at which a student is prepared to resume independent responsibility for their continued success.

Graduate School Essays
While graduate programs differ from undergraduate programs in terms of career objectives, academic requirements, and admissions criteria, our process of working together is the same. We love working with applicants new to the process, and we also value the opportunity to work again with students we once supported through the journey from high school to college—recognizing their personal growth throughout their university experience and guiding them through their next steps to law school, medical school, or graduate programs in any field.
